Our Environmental Policy

1. Our Commitment

Limousine Service of Westchester recognizes that, by its very nature, the chauffeured ground transportation industry adversely affects the environment as long as fossil fuels are the main source of vehicle engine power. We also recognize that it is our responsibility to mitigate the impacts of fossil fuel use, as well as the negative impacts associated with the other activities of our business operations – such as waste disposal, electricity use, supply chain management, and employee travel. Limousine Service of Westchester is committed to being a leader in environmental stewardship in our industry. We are committed to environmentally sustainable business practices in all aspects of our operations, and to demonstrating to others in the industry that environmental sustainability is a necessary condition for financial success and longevity. Our vision is to provide chauffeured ground transportation that is neutral in its overall impact on the environment. This policy commits Limousine Service of Westchester to an environmental management system that is based on the fulfillment of this vision and that will help transition the company to being environmentally sustainable.

2. Our Responsibility

It is the responsibility of every employee of Limousine Service of Westchester to ensure that decisions made in their day-to-day business activities take into consideration the possible effect on the environment, and that all reasonable actions are taken to avoid any negative environmental consequences. Limousine Service of Westchester’s business shall be conducted in a way that is consistent with municipal, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations wherever our operations are based. Limousine Service of Westchester is committed to selecting affiliates that follow similar environmental policies and that have the same intent and effect in their geographic areas as this policy.

3. Fuel and Energy Efficiency

Limousine Service of Westchester shall systemically improve fuel efficiency, thereby reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions over the entire range of fleet and business operations, including employee commute and travel. We will implement standard operating procedures in all office and garage locations that will reduce electricity, thereby lowering demand for grid electricity generation. The company shall identify areas where heating and cooling energy is inefficiently consumed, and shall adopt practices that will conserve energy.

4. Waste Management

Limousine Service of Westchester shall implement a waste management program that will reduce the consumption of disposable items, reuse supplies, and recycle appropriate materials. The company shall dispose of waste in a responsible and safe manner.

5. Supply Chain Management

Limousine Service of Westchester’s purchasing decisions shall encourage suppliers to adopt and follow environmental policies that have the same intent and effect as this policy.

6. Scope

Limousine Service of Westchester shall set targets to reduce the environmental impact of its business operations in each of the following areas (where relevant); measure the progress in reaching those targets; and review and revise the targets where necessary on an annual basis:

6.1    Fleet vehicle operation
        a. Greenhouse gas emissions
        b. Other air quality emissions
6.2    Disposal of vehicle maintenance waste
        a. Used motor oil
        b. Tires
        c. Other vehicle parts
        d. Other
6.3    Office and garage electricity use
6.4    Office and garage heating fuel consumption
6.5    Office and garage water consumption
6.6    Office and garage air conditioning refrigerant migration
6.7    Disposal of office waste
6.8    Retiring or disposal of vehicles (i.e. end-of-fleet-life transition)
6.9    Employee commuting to and from work
6.10   Business travel
6.11   The purchase of supplies and services

Management Review

Limousine Service of Westchester’s senior management team shall be kept informed of environmental issues as they arise and shall regularly review the progress in fulfilling the commitments in this policy.
